Rebel

In this tutorial I am using the art of Keith Garvey
which I purchased from mypsptubes.
Keith now sells his tubes at Psp Tubes Emporium.

I am using a freebie kit from Cora of Pimp’d Designz called F*ck Love.
You can get the kit here.
Thank you Cora.

You will need a perspective angled tube, my chessboard misted tube which you can get here and a mask.
I used mask 198 by Insatiable Dreams here.

Open a new canvas 700 x 700 pixels (you can resize later) and floodfill with white.

Open pd-mesh-01 and paste on your canvas as a new layer. Resize by 70% and rotate to the right by 15 degrees. Adjust – sharpen – unsharp mask, settings radius and clipping 5, strength 50.  Add a drop shadow, vertical and horizontal – 2, opacity - 60, blur – 3.

Open pd-frame 4 and paste as a new layer. Resize 70% and rotate by 90 degrees. We are going to pull this frame out to give it some perspective with the pick tool (I am using version X3, the pick tool is called deform tool in earlier versions). When you click on the pick tool, you will see nodes appear around the tube. We want to pull the top part of the frame out so hold down the control key, hold your cursor on one of the nodes in the top corners and pull it out to the side a little. Holding down the control key while you do this will cause it to pull out both sides equally. Then rotate the frame 5 degrees to the right and unsharp mask as before. Add the same drop shadow as before.  As a note, if you are using a tube with the larger part at the bottom, you will need to pull out the frame at the bottom not the top. See my example below.

Click inside the frame and expand your selection by 10. Open pd-pp-p2, make a new layer and paste the layer into the selection. Drag this layer down below the frame. We need this same selection later so save it – selections, load/save selections, save to alpha channel. Select none and go back to your frame layer. Add a drop shadow vertical and horizontal - 5, opacity - 70, blur - 10.

Now we are going to put the “floor” inside the frame. Open my misted chessboard tube, paste as a new layer and plact it in position. Again we want to give the floor some perspective with the pick tool but this time, as we want the floor to look like its going off into the distance, we will pull the nodes in closer together instead of moving them apart.  When you have done, rotate to the right 10 degrees, load your selection that you saved to alpha channel, selection invert and delete to get rid of the excess on the chessboard.

Open pd-wings2 and paste as a new layer. Resize 95% and rotate to the right by 15 degrees. Unsharp mask with the same settings as before and then apply the same drop shadow as for the frame. Drag this layer down below the frame paper.

Open pd_paper folded and paste as a new layer. Resize 95%, rotate to the left 90 degrees, unsharp mask as before, position and apply the same drop shadow.

Click on your top layer and add your tube. Apply the same drop shadow as the frame.

Add any embellishments you make like, I also added some glitter splashes that I had. Don’t forget to unsharp mask on any items that are rotated and to apply drop shadows.

Crop or resize as needed.

Click on your bottom background layer and make a new layer, select all. Open pd_pp09 and paste into selection. Apply your mask.

Add your copyright info and text.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any problems, please email me here

Psyco Jimi very kindly allows his art to be used for free but you do need a licence
which you can get here.
Thank you Jimi!

Fairy Tale

In this tutorial I used the art of Rachael Anderson which I purchased at CILM.
Rachael now sells her tubes at Creative Design Outlet.

I used a beautiful scrap kit called Serenity by CBJ which is exclusive to Dreamscape Imaging.
Please visit Jo's blog here for details.

You will require a mask of you choice.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 x 650 pixels. You can resize later. Flood fill this layer with white.

Open CBJ_SerenityFoilageRingFrame and paste as a new layer. Resize by 50% and apply a drop shadow vertical and horizontal – 5, opacity 70, blur 10.

Open CBJ_SerenityPlant and paste as a new layer. Resize by 60%. Move over to the left hand side as my tag. Duplicate this layer and move it over to the right and down a bit.  Apply the same drop shadow as before to each layer.

Open CBJ_SerenityFoliage and paste as a new layer. Resize by 80%, position a little over to the left and apply the same drop shadow as before.

Open CBJ_SerenityFlower1 and paste as new layer.  Resize by 50% and position over to the left as my tag. Duplicate this layer, resize it by 80% and mirror. Move this layer over to the right and down a little. Apply the same drop shadow as before to each layer.

Open CBJ_SerenityFlower2 and paste as a new layer. Resize by 50% and position over to the left to the side of Flower 1. Apply the same drop shadow as before.

Open CBJ_SerenityToadstalls and paste as a new layer. Resize by 90%. Apply the same drop shadow as before.

Open CBJ_SerenityBook and paste as a new layer. Resize by 55% and position down a little as my tag. Apply a drop shadow vertical and horizontal – 5, opacity 60, blur -10.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer. Position the tube on the book. I put a soft drop shadow on my tube of vertical and horizontal – 3, opacity -40, blur 10.  I then erased a little of her feet so it looked as if she was standing in the pages.

Check all your layers are in position and adjust if necessary, erasing any parts that show below the bottom of the book.

Open CBJ_SerenityCloud and paste as a new layer. Resize by 90%, drag this layer down below the book and position as my tag. Duplicate this layer, resize again by 90%. Move this layer up higher and to the right and drag down until is below the plant layers.

Open CBJ_SerenityLamp, click on your top layer and paste the lamp as a new layer. Resize 50%, again by 50% and again by 80%, rotate the right 10 degrees. Adjust – sharpness – unsharp mask, radius and clipping 5, strength 30.  Drag this layer below the book and position over to the right as my tag.  Apply a drop shadow horizontal and vertical – 2, opacity – 60, blur – 5.

Open CBJ_SerenityButterflies, click on your top layer again and paste the butterflies as a new layer. Resize by 50% and again by 50%.  Position the butterflies over your tube and apply a drop shadow vertical and horizontal – 5, opacity – 60, blur -10.

As my tube was holding out her hand so obligingly, I also added CBJ_SerenityLightBeam which I resized by 60%, mirrored and rotated to the right 15 degrees. I dragged this layer below the butterflies.

Now is the time to crop and resize if you wish to do so.

Open a paper of your choice, I used CBJ_SerenityPaper7. Click on your bottom white layer, make a new layer, select all and paste the paper into the selection. Add a mask of your choice.

Add your copyright information and text.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any problems, you can email me here.

I recoloured some of the elements in the kit to compliment my tube.

Open a new canvas 650 x 600 pixels and floodfill with white.

Open CBJ_Gothiquesque_Mesh and paste as a new layer. Resize 55%.  Effects - sharpen - unsharp mask radius - 2, strength -50, clipping - 5. Apply a drop shadow horizontal and vertical 2, opacity 70, blur 3. Move the mesh over a little to the left.

Open CBJ_Gothiquesque_Clock and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%.  Apply a drop shadow horizontal and vertical 5, opacity 60, blur 10.  Move over slightly to the right.

Open CBJ_Gothiquesque_GlitterSpill and paste as a new layer.  Duplication this layer a couple of times, drag the layers down until they are just above the mesh layer and position around the tag.  Add a drop shadow to each layer the same as for the barbwireskull.

Open CBJ_Gothiquesque_Ivy, click on your top tube layer and paste as a new layer. Resize 50% and then 80%. Image - rotate - free rotate, settings Direction right, degrees 90. Strange Love

In this tutorial I used the art of Irina Grank.
You will need a license to use Irina's art which can be purchased at mypsptubes.

I used a scrapkit called Tainted Romance by CBJ.
Please visit Jo's blog here for details.

You will also require a mask.
I used Insationable Dreams mask 158
which you can get here.

Open a transparent canvas 700 x 600 pixels and floodfill with white.

Open CBJ_TaintedRomance_Paper 11 and copy. Back to canvas, add a new layer, select all and paste into selection. Apply your mask. De-select.  My mask layer had a hard edge either side so I applied it again and then resized it 110%.

Open CBJ_TaintedRomance_Rose frame, copy and paste as a new layer on your tag. Click inside the frame and expand the selection by 3. Open CBJ_TaintedRomance__Paper 7, add a new layer on your tag and paste the paper into the selection. De-select and move that layer down below the frame.  Back on your frame layer, apply a drop shadow horizontal and vertical - 2, opacity - 70, blur - 5.

Open CBJ_TaintedRomance_Glitter Splatter and paste as a new layer on your tag. Move the splatter over to the left hand side as in my tag and drag it down so it is above the mask layer. Duplicate this layer as many times as you like and arrange so it shows around the edge of the frame. On each layer apply a drop shadow horizontal and vertical - 2, opacity - 70, blur - 3.

Open CBJ_TaintedRomance_GlitterHeartSpill and paste as a new layer on your tag.  Resize by 80% and place in position, duplicating if you want more hearts. I re-coloured the hearts using the change to target brush as the colour didnt match my tube. Apply the same drop shadow as you did to the frame to the heart spill layers.

Open CBJ_TaintedRomance_Wire and paste as a new layer on your tag. Resize by 50% and then again by 80%. Move it over so the top left hand corner so it is showing from below the frame. Duplicate this layer twice and X out the duplicate layers for the moment. Back on the original wire layer, erase any that is showing other than the part of the top left hand corner. Open the duplicate layer and move over so some is showing on the right hand side and again erase any you dont want to show. Do the same for the second duplicate positioning it so it shows lower down on the left hand side. Apply the same drop shadow to all the wire layers as you did to the splatter layers.

Add your tube, resize and position. Apply a drop shadow. I used horizontal and vertical - 5, opacity - 70, blur - 10.

Open CBJ_TaintedRomance_Candle and paste as new layer on your tag. Resize 12%. Duplicate the candle and position around the tube.  Apply the same drop shadow as you did to the frame to each candle.

Merge layers visible, then add your copyright and your text.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any problems, you can email me here.
