Always Believe

In this tutorial I used the art of José Cano.
You need a license to use to José’s art,
They are available here.

I used a totally awesome kit called  “A Torrid Fairytale” by
I absolutely loved this kit and even though I have used
several of the elements, there are still many I have not used!
You can get it here.

You will also need a mask, I used Weescotslass’ mask 133, here.

I used the front 5th Grader, here.

You will need to sharpen the elements after resizing/rotating, for more information, check out my Tips and Tricks Page.  I sharpened some of the elements twice to bring them back to their original nice sparkly look.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 550 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pd-pp-04.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open pd-print-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90% and move very slightly over to the left and up.

Open pd-castle and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, move over to the right and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-frame-04 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90% and rotate 15 degrees to the left.

Open pd-pp-05 and copy.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below the frame layer and paste the paper into the selection, do not deselect.

Open your tube or the close up if you have one, paste as an new layer, resize as needed, position nicely in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess tube, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to frame layer and lower the opacity of the tube to around 50.

Open pd-moon and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, drag down below the castle layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-swirl-3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and rotate 25 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your main tube, paste as a new layer and bring to the top, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-unicorn and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, drag down below the main tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-spider-web and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55% and place in position.  I didn’t put a shadow on this element.

Open pd-fire and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75% and place in position.  Again, no shadow on this element.

Open pd-flower-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-flower-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-key and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd-ribbon-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and place in position.  Again, no drop shadow on this layer as it already has one.

Open pd-sparkles-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and place in position.

Open pd-lights and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40% and place in position.

Open pd-mushrooms25 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position on the left hand side of the tube, duplicate, resize the duplicate 80% and position on the right, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open pd-rat, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Mirror, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, when you are happy crop your tag and resize if needed, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can email me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
