Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

In this tutorial I used the art of Alicia Mujica.
You need a license to use Alicia's art.
I purchased mine from PSP Tubes Emporium but
Alicia now sells all her tubes in her Boutique, here.

The kit I used is called "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by
The kit is presently on a 50% discount, you can get it here.

You will need two masks, Monti's circle mask here and
Vix' mask 437, here
(under Goodies at the top).
Font is Jellyka, Le Grand Saut Textural,  here.

Don't forget to sharpen up your elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will look a little blurry.  For more info, check out my Tips and Tricks page.

I used a drop shadow unless otherwise stated of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open pd12-pp-05 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection and apply Monti's mask.  Do not deselect.

Open pd12-pp-3 and copy.  Make another layer on your canvas, paste this paper into the selection, deselect and apply Vix' mask.

Open pd12-frame-03 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and rotate 15 degrees to the right.  Move over a little to the right.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used pd12-pp02.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10,  make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper.

Open p12-present and paste as a new layer.  Resize 90% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-frame-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%.

Open another of the papers and copy, this time I used pd12-pp-10.  Select the interior of this frame with your magic wand,  expand by 14, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection, deselect.  As the frame is transparent you can see the edge of the paper through it so run your soften brush around the edge of the paper until the hard edge blends in.  I applied my own drop shadow to the frame even though it already had one.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position inside the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flower-02 and paste as a new layer making sure its on the top.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-snowflake-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-scatter-01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-flower-01 and paste as a new layer,.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-candycane-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open pd12-ornament-02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Open pd12-snow and paste as a new layer, drag down below the tube, place in position and apply a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 1, opacity 60, blur 3.

When you are done, crop  your tag and add your copyright information and text (remember to change the drop shadow back to the original for the text), then export your tag as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, you can contact me here.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
