Tethys

In this tutorial I used a beautiful tube by SkyScraps and
matching kit from Scrapz n Pleasure
both called "Tethys" and both available at
Both the tube and the kit are currently at a discounted price.

You will also need a mask, I used Horseplay's Pasture mask 11, here.

Font is Amadeus, here

Your elements will need to be sharpened after resizing/rotating because this makes them a little blurry; you can check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used SNP-tethys-paper06.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection and apply the mask.  Resize 90%.

Open SN-tethys-elements15 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and move over a little to the right.

Open SNP-tethys-paper07 and copy.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, paste the paper as a new layer below the frame, resize 50%, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess paper.  Do not de-select.

Open the tube and paste Calque 2 as a new layer.  Resize 60% and position inside the frame, again hit delete to remove the excess tube and deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and the tube and change the blend mode on the tube to "Luminance (Legacy)".

Open the tube again and paste Calque 3 as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position next to the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open SNP-tethys-elements22 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, drag down so its just above the mask layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SNP-tethys-elements24 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, move over so it shows on the right of the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Open SNP-tethys-elements01 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SNP-tethys-elements29 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SNP-tethys-elements41 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SNP-tethys-elements36 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SNP-tethys-elements02 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SNP-tethys-elements46 and paste as a new layer.  Drag up above the frame, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SNP-tethys-elements17 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 22%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SNP-tethys-elements21 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers so far and make any necessary adjustments.

Open SNP-tethys-elements06 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 25%, place in position so a little shows at the side of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open SNP-tethys-elements09 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Again, check the positions of your layers and when you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.  Be careful when you crop not to chop into the mask or you will get a nasty straight edge.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, you can email me here if you have any questions.  As always, I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
