Posh!

In this tutorial I used the art of Verymany.
You need a license to use Verymany's art,
available at Scraps and the City.

I used an awesome kit called "Posh" by
This is a fantastic kit packed full of beautiful elements
that will go with lots of tubes
and is also available at Scraps and the City.

You will also need a mask, I used Vix' Big Mask 017, here.

Font is 4 Stix DA, here.

Remember to sharpen up those elements after resizing/rotating as this makes them a little blurry; check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 85, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 500 and flood fill with white.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-pp6 and copy.  Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E89 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%.  Don’t unsharp mask or add the shadow to this element yet as we will come back to it later and stretch it a bit higher.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place roughly in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 37%.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E48 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, drag down below the tube and place in position.

Select the interior of E48 with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it and fill it with colour #34251f.  Do not de-select.

Open the tube again and mirror it, paste as a new layer, resize as needed and position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess.  I resized this tube 70%.  Set the blend mode on the tube to hard light and lower the opacity to around 45, apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Open SkyScraps-Posh_E69 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 80% and flip, drag down so its above the mask layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Posh_E45 and paste as a new layer.  Drag up so its just above E89 (the cityscape), resize 70% and place in position behind the main tube.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E64 and paste as a new layer.  Drag up so its just below the main tube, resize 69%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E17 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and rotate 15 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E21 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E12 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40% and rotate 15 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E92 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E19 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and rotate 50 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E77 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E91, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E90 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E83 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Posh-E57 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  Refer to my tag for the position of E89, you want to line it up at the bottom and we will stretch it from the top.

Activate E89 and your pick tool (deform tool in older Jasc versions).   You will see a square with nodes will come around the element.  Grab that centre node at the top and pull it up to make the element taller.   If you over do it, just hit the back button and try again.  When you have done, unsharp mask with radius and clipping on 5 and strength on 30, then apply the drop shadow.

Once again, check the positions of your layers and when you are happy, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here.  Of course I would love to see your result and include it in the gallery!
