Daydreaming

In this tutorial I have again used the art of Barbara Jensen.
You need a license to use Barbara’s art.
This tube is called Cascade, from her layered pack 39 and
is available from her store.

The kit I used is absolutely gorgeous, its called Daydreaming
and is by CrazyCarita.
The kit is also available at Barbara’s store.

Barbara is currently running a 30% store wide sale and a bonus special.

You will also need a mask, I used Insatiable Dreams mask 565.

Font is 1 Snappy DNA

Please be sure to read my “About my tutorials” page before starting the tutorial, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open pp4 and copy, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 80%.

Open el1 and paste as a new layer, resize 55% and move over to the left a little, we will come back to it later.

Open el14 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 70% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el19 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open your main tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, duplicate it and close the original, make your layer options and copy merged.  I resized my tube 75%.

Open pp2 and copy. Go back to el1, that’s the frame and activate it.  Click anywhere on your canvas outside of the element to make a selection, invert the selection and contract it by 20, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection.  Do not deselect.

Open your tube again and paste it as a new layer, resize if needed and position nicely in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess.  Set the blend mode on the tube to “Overlay” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.   I used the main tube without resizing.

Open el18 and paste as a new layer making sure its just above the frame.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el15 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, place in position, erase the top part of the chain and apply the drop shadow.

Open el11 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el5 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60%, place in position on the right of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open el2, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el4 and paste as a new layer.  Rotate 80 degrees to the left and resize 80%, drag down below el2 and position on the left.  Duplicate, mirror and flip the duplicate and position on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50% and position so just a little of it shows below el2.  Duplicate, mirror and flip the duplicate and position so it shows above el2 on the left.  Duplicate again, mirror the duplicate and move over to the right.  Apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Open el12 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el9 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el16 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el11 again, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, when you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
