About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Pinup Toons.
You need a license to use Pinup Toons’ art,
available at Creative Design Outlet.

The kit I used was inspired by this tube, 162-3 and is by
The kit is also available at Creative Design Outlet.

You will also need a mask, I used Weescotslass’ mask 141.

Font is All HookedUp.
Font bevel instructions are included in the tut.

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting the tutorial, thank you.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 75, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 650 pixels and flood fill with white.

Open pp2 and copy, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect.  Open the mask and flip it, then apply to the paper.  Resize 95%.

Open el6 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%.

Open your main tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 90%.

Open pp4 and copy.  Go back to el6 and select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste the paper into the selection.

Open your tube again or the close up if you have one and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, position inside the element, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  I used layer 3 of the tube resized 90%.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and the tube, merge the tube down onto the paper layer and apply the blinds effect with the settings in my screenshot below (Effects – Texture Effects – Blinds).

Open el2 and paste as a  new layer.  Resize 40% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el4 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 40% and rotate 15 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el5 and el6 and paste each as a new layer.  Resize them both 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el17 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% and rotate 90 degrees to the left, position on the right of the tube, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el8 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60% and position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el10 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el13 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el7 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of you layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Set your foreground/stroke colour to #f1d3e3 and your background/fill colour to #97b6c4, open your font, set your stroke width to 3 and type your name (sizing up to you because font sizes are not the same in different versions of Paint Shop).  Apply a inner bevel using the settings on my screenshot below and then apply the drop shadow.

Open el9 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 30%, position on your name and apply the drop shadow.

Crop your tag and add your copyright information, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
