About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Petunia” from the new pack 44 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the new pack at

I used a fabulous kit called “Je T’Adore” by
The kit can also be purchased at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 141 by

 Font of choice.

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 80, blur 5.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Open pp7 and copy, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open el8a and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and move over to the right, select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20, make a layer below it, copy pp7 again and paste it into the selection.  Do not deselect.   Open your tube or the close up if you have one and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and position inside the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  I used the close up tube which I mirrored before pasting and resized 60%.  Apply the drop shadow to the tube and the frame and change the blend mode on the tube to “Luminance (Legacy)”.  Close out the white background and mask layers and merge visible, re-open the closed layers, duplicate the merged layer, mirror it and line the two copies up next to each other.

Open your main tube and paste as a new layer, resize as need, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, duplicate it and close the original, pick your layers and copy merged.   I resized my tube 75%.

Open el16 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 75% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, drag down below the merged layers and position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el18 and paste as a new layer.   Drag up above the merged layers, resize 50% and rotate 60 degrees to the right, position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el2 and paste as a new layer.   Flip, resize 55% and rotate 20 degrees to the right and position on the left, as before, duplicate, mirror and position the duplicate, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el12 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el1 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open e25 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el9 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el23 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el11 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, rotate 20 degrees to the right and position on the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el5 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el21 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el6 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el13 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 42% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el4 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el3 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
