About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

From pack 47 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube from

I used a beautiful kit “Midnight Glam” by
The kit is also available at

You will also need a mask, I used Circle mask by

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting if this is the first tutorial of mine that you have followed.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 80, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Open and copy pp7, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask. Resize 95%.

Open el5 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%,  rotate 20 degrees to the right  and move over to the right a little.   Select the interior with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10.  Open and copy pp5, make a new layer below the frame and paste the paper into the selection, deselect.  Duplicate the frame and the paper, mirror them and move up and over to the left.   We will come back to these.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  If you are using one of Barbara’s layered tubes, duplicate it and close the original, pick your layers and merge visible.  I resized my tube 70%.

Open el22 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65%, drag down to just above the mask and position on the left.  Duplicate and position the duplicate on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el13 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65% and position on the left, duplicate, mirror and flip the duplicate and position on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open e9 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, duplicate and mirror the duplicate.  Place the duplicate below the frames on the right and the original above the frames on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el10 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, position behind the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Open el11 and paste as a new layer.  Place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I duplicate layer this and moved the duplicate over so a little showed on the right erasing what overlapped.

Open el23 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el20 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el2 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el30 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, duplicate and position either side of the tube, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open el21 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el16 and paste as a new layer.  Mirror, resize 60%, drag down to just above the frame, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el4, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el8 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el29 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 55%, drag below the chain, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open el30 again and paste as a new layer.  Resize 70% again and flip, drag down below el29, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Open your tube again or the close up if you have one and paste as a new layer just below the frame on the left.  Select the interior of the frame again and expand the selection as before, position the tube in the frame resizing it as needed then invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess.  Duplicate the tube, mirror it and position in the right hand frame.  Change the blend mode on both tubes to “Soft Light” and apply the drop shadow to the frames.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
