About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I again used the tube “Witchy” by
Janna Prosvirina.
You can purchase the tube at

This time I used part 2 of the kit “Witchy” by
The kit is available at

I used two masks in my tag, mask 79 by
and mask 4 by
(the top one of the masks posted on 2nd July 2011).

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page if this is the first tutorial of mine that you have followed.

Unless otherwise stated, I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 80, blur 10.

Open both masks and rotate each one 90 degrees to the right.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Open and copy Paper4-GI_WitchyII, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection and apply Vaybs’ mask, resize 95%.

Open and copy Paper13-GI_WitchyII, make another layer and paste this paper into the selection, deselect and apply Chichi’s mask.

Open Bracket-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.  Resize 75% and move up.  Select the interior of the bracket with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10.  Open and copy Paper1-GI_WitchyII, make a new layer below the bracket and paste the paper into the selection.

Open your tube, paste as a new layer and position in the bracket resizing as needed, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  I used the close up tube resized 75%.  Lower the opacity of the tube to around 50 and apply the drop shadow to the bracket.

Open SpellBook-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.  Resize 55%, drag down so it’s just above the mask layers, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Bush-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Bats-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Cat-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, place in position, erase the parts of his back, tail and feet that show and apply the drop shadow.

Open SunFlower-GI_WitchyII, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Cluster-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Tab_GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, drag down below the sunflowers, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Fabric-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Sequins-GI_WitchyII, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Ribbon1-GI_WitchyII, paste as a new layer and resize 50% .  Open RottingLeaf-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer, resize 18% and rotate 30 degrees to the left.  Put the leaf in position, duplicate the ribbon and position behind the leaf erasing any parts that overlap hiding the join behind the leaf.  Apply the drop shadow to each element.

Open Ribbon2-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open DriedFloral1-GI_Witchy and paste as a new layer.   Resize 37%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open Leaf2-GI_Witchy and paste as a new layer.   Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Open Cloud-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60%, drag down to just above the spellbook layer and place in position.

Open Web-GI_WitchyII, paste as a new lay and drag up so its just below the sunflowers.  Resize 45%, place in position and apply a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal  2, opacity to 85 and blur 5.

Open Spider-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.  Resize 35%, place in position and apply the last drop shadow.

Open Crow-GI_WitchyII and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow changing the settings back to the original ones.

Open Lights-GI_WitchyII, paste as a new layer and bring to the top.  Resize 50% and place in position.

Check your layers again on both a white and a black background. When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text then export as a png on a transparent background.
