Cruelina

In this tutorial I used the art of
Amy Matthews.
You need a license to use Amy’s art, available at

I used an awesome kit called “Cruelina” by
I just loved working with this kit!
You can purchase it at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 188 by

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before starting, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and  horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 and fill with white.

Open one of the papers and copy, I used SkyScraps-Cruela-pp5.   Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E70 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 65% and move over a little to the left.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 7.  Open SkyScraps-Cruela-pp1 and copy, make a new layer below the element and paste the paper into the selection, deselect.  I re-coloured the paper to better coordinate with my tube.

Open your tube and paste as a new layer, resize as needed and position in the frame, I resized my tube 80%.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and the tube.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E3 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 65%, drag down to above the mask, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E23 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 70%, drag below the castle and place in position.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E54 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 60% and place in position.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E65 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E41, paste as a new layer and drag up above the castle.   Resize 50%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on either side, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E49 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, drag down below the copies of E41 and place in position so it shows on the right of the frame.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E58, paste as a new layer and drag up to below the tube.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E36 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E73 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela_E61 and paste as a new layer.   Mirror, resize 30%, drag down behind the gravestone, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela_E52 and paste as a new layer and bring to the top.   Resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E26 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E7 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E13 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E18 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E1 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers so far and make any necessary adjustments.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E16 and paste as a new layer.  Resize 60% and place in position between the tube and the frame.   Change your background colour temporarily to black so you can see where the lightening goes and place it in position erasing some from the top.   With your eraser set to size 50 and opacity 50, dab around the top of the lightening to blend it in so you don't have a hard edge.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E60 and paste as a new layer making sure its on the top.   Mirror, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I re-coloured all the crows to match my tube better.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E63 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E64 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open SkyScraps-Cruela-E93 and paste as a new layer.   Resize 15% and duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place both spiders in position and apply the drop shadow to both.  Again, I re-coloured the spiders.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
