Animation:

Starting at the top, close off all your layers down to and including element 11 (the cloud) that is behind the tube and merge the open layers visible.  Close off the merged layer, open the closed layers and merge those visible.

Open Simon’s animation in Animation Shop and resize it 45% (Animation – Resize Animation).

Copy the bottom merged layer, paste it in animation shop “As New Animation” and duplicate it until you have 16 frames (the same number of frames as the bat animation).  Click on the first frame of the bat animation and go to Edit – Select All – Edit – Copy.  Click on your merged frame layer 1, go to “Edit – Select All then right click, “Paste Into Selected Frame” and position the bat animation on your tag.

Back in Paint Shop copy the top merged copy of your tag and again paste it in Animation Shop “As New Animation” and duplicate the frame as before.  Select all these frames and copy them as you did the bat animation and paste them on your tag.

When you are done, run your tag through the Optimization Wizard and save it as a gif.

First Bite

In this tutorial I used the art of
You need a license to use Enys’ art, available at

I used an awesome kit inspired by the Jennifer Janesko tube 82-1 from
The kit can also be purchased at

I used mask mask 1 from set 82 from

Font of choice, I used

If you wish to do the animation, you will need Animation Shop
and animation 276 from

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 x 650 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 6 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste frame 2, resize 80% and duplicate, rotate the original 30 degrees to the right and place in position.

Paste your tube, resize it 90%, duplicate it, close off the copy and rotate the original 30 degrees to the right.

Select the interior of the rotated frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below the frame and paste paper 6 into it.  Move the rotated tube down below this frame and place in position, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and the tube and change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light”

Go back to the copy frame, select the interior, expand the selection and make a new layer as before, paste paper 2 into the selection, deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.  Open the tube you closed off, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2, drag him to above the rotated frame, resize 80%, place in position erasing his tail and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30, resize 40% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13 on the top, resize 40% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, place in position erasing the bottom of the holder and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I used the Lighten/Darken brush on this element to darken it a bit.

Paste element 3, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the word art, resize 40% and place in position.  I recoloured the word art and put a gradient glow around it before the shadow to make it stand out more.

Check your layers and make any adjustments (I resized my mask slightly, just to 105%), then crop your tag and add your copyright information and text.  If you are not continuing with the animation, save your tag as a png on a transparent background.

For the animation, starting from the top, close off your layers to just below the main tube and merge visible.  Close off that merged layer, open the closed layers and merge those also.  Copy this bottom merged layer and paste it in animation shop "As a New Animation" then duplicate it until you have 16 copies.  Open Simone’s animation, go to Edit – Select All – Edit – Copy, click on your tag layer and go to Edit – Select All  then right click and choose “Paste into Selected Frame” and paste the animation on your tag, Edit - Select all the tag frames again and paste the animation again (it will still be saved in your memory).   Back in Paint Shop, open the closed merged layer, copy it and paste in Animation Shop "As a New Animation", duplicate it to 16 copies, then select all the frames, copy them and paste them on the animated tag the same as before.  When you have done, run your tag through the Optimization Wizard and save as a gif.
