About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “From a Fairy Tale” by
You can purchase Vadis’ tubes from
This is a great tube with many options.

I used the kit “Crown Jewels” from
This gorgeously colourful kit can be purchased at

I used grunge mask 01 from

Font is Pique 'N' Meex.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Paste the mask, resize 45%, mirror and flip.  Select the mask, float and defloat it, make a new layer and paste paper 8 into the selection, deselect and delete the original mask layer.

Paste frame 3 and resize 55%%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below it and paste paper 9 into it.  Paste the tube (full size one), resize 75% and position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the tube and change the blend mode to “Hard Light”, apply the drop shadow to the frame, turn off your white background and mask layers and merge visible, turn the hidden layers back on and move the merged layer into position.

Paste the tube again, resize 32%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, drag below the merged layer, resize 45%, duplicate twice, mirror and flip one copy and position at the back of the frame.  Duplicate again, drag above the merged layer, duplicate twice more and position around the tube.  Apply the drop shadow to all copies

Paste element 1, resize 40%, drag below the frame, duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 29, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 60 above the frame, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 35, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 39, resize 50%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 40, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23 behind the tube, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 47, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 50, resize 55% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 41, resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 21, resize 35% and roate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
