About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

You can purchase Stan’s tubes at

The kit is “Saint Valentin” from
This lovely kit has some great colour options and can be purchased at

I used Valentine mask 01 from

Font is

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 65, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Paste the mask and resize it 29%.  Select all, float and defloat the mask, make a new layer and paste paper 9 into the selection, deselect and delete the original black mask layer.

Paste frame 3 and resize it 65%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, paste paper 9 again as a new layer below the frame, resize the paper 40% and position it in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  We will come back to this.

Paste element 14, resize 32%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the main tube, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 40%, drag below the tube, duplicate, flip one copy and position on the left, move the other over to the right and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 38, resize 30% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 41, resize 45% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 15% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 22, resize 35% and rotate 90 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7, resize 20% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28 on the top, resize 25% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 11,  resize 27%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 15%, duplicate and mirror the copy, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Check your layers and make any adjustments

Paste the tube again between the frame and the paper, resize 60% and position in the frame, select the interior of the frame and expand the selection as before, invert it and hit delete on the tube, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Soft Light” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
