About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous tube “Embraced”
from the latest kit 87 from
You can purchase the tube from

I used the kit “Garden Party” from
This kit can also be purchased at

I used flower springmask 02 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 65, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Paste frame 3, resize 45% and rotate 90 degrees in either direction.  Duplicate this frame, flip the copy and place them into position.

Paste element 34, resize 90%, drag below the frames, duplicate, place both copies in position erasing the bottom of the trunk from the one on the right and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste the tube on the top, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 55%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 33, resize 90% and position on the right, duplicate, resize the copy another 90%, mirror it, erase the smaller tuft now on the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 36, resize 45% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 42, resize 45%, duplicate, mirror the copy and resize it another 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 29, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 31 on the top, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30, resize 60%, drag below element 31, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 32, resize 20% and duplicate.  Mirror one copy and position it below the watering can, position the original copy above the watering can and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 53, resize 18% and duplicate.  Position above the watering can, duplicate the copy, mirror it and position it on the top, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 37 below the top yellow flower, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4 on the top, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 40%, duplicate, mirror the copy, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Check your layers now and make any adjustments.

Go back to the right hand frame, select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the frame,  and paste paper 6 into the selection.  Duplicate this paper and position it below the left hand frame.

Paste the tube again, resize it 90%, position in the right hand frame, invert the selection, hit delete on the tube and deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Overlay” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.  Select the interior of the left hand frame, expand the selection as before and repeat the above with the tube mirrored then deselect.

Paste the mask just above the white background layer and resize it 34%.  Select all, float and defloat the mask, make a new layer and paste paper 10 in to the selection, deselect.  Delete the original black mask layer, duplicate the paper mask layer and merge the copy down onto the original.  Now use your Pick tool to squeeze the mask in a bit so its narrower and fits the tag better.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
