About Me
- Vivienne
- Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the amazing art of one of my
favourite artists, Screaming Demons.
You need a license to use Screaming Demons' art, available
here.
The kit I used is “Romantic Steampunk” by
I love steampunk and love this kit, thank you Carita!
You can get the kit here.
I used two masks, Gem’s mask 22 here and
Vix Big Mask 017 here.
Font is “Time to Get a Watch” here.
Remember to sharpen up
those elements after resizing/rotating as otherwise they will look a little
blurry; check out my Tips and Tricks page for more info.
I used a drop shadow
throughout of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 80, blur 10.
Open a new transparent
canvas 600 by 600 pixels and flood fill with white.
Open pp6 and copy, make a
new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection and
apply Gem's mask. Resize 90%.
Now open pp3 and copy,
make another layer on your canvas, you should still have the selection, paste
the paper into it and apply Vix’ mask, deselect. Merge this mask layer down onto the first
mask layer.
Open el25 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 75%, position in the
top, left corner and apply the drop shadow.
Open el2 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 85%, position in the
top, right corner, apply the drop shadow.
Open el1 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 85%, position on the
bottom, left corner and apply the drop shadow.
Open your tube and paste
as a new layer, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open el12 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 40% and rotate 10
degrees to the left, drag down below your tube and place in position.
Select the interior of
el12 with your magic wand and expand the selection by 15. Open pp2, make a new layer below el12 and
paste the paper into the selection. Do
not delselect.
Open your tube again or
the close up if you have one and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed and position in el12, invert
the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect. Apply the drop shadow to the tube and the
element and change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light”.
Open el11 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 60%, place in position
and apply the drop shadow.
Open el27 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 75%, place in position
and apply the drop shadow.
Open el15 and paste as a new
layer. Mirror, resize 60%, place in
position and apply the drop shadow.
Open el31 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 50%, place in position
and apply the drop shadow.
Open el10 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 60%, place in position
and apply the drop shadow.
Open el17 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 30% and rotate 30
degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open el19, paste as a new
layer and bring to the top. Resize 35%,
place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open el33 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 45%, drag down below
el19, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open el3 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 45%, place in position
and apply the drop shadow.
Open el21, paste as a new
layer and bring to the top. Mirror,
resize 40% and rotate 40 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the
drop shadow.
Open el5 and paste as a
new layer. Resize 30% and rotate 40
degrees to t he right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Paste el21 as a new layer
again, resize 40% as before and drag down below el19, place in position on the
left and apply the drop shadow.
Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, when you are done, crop your tag and add your copyright information and text, then export as a jpeg with compression set to 5 or on a transparent background as a png.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions, please email me here and don't forget to send me your result, I love to see them and include them in the gallery!
