About Me
- Vivienne
- Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I
used the art of Keith Garvey.
You need a license to
use Keith’s art, available here.
The kit I used is
called “Queen of the Night” by
Grunge & Glitter
and is available here.
You will need template 36 from Twysted T's Playroom, here.
You will also need a
mask, I used Gem’s mask 22, here.
Font is 1 Snappy DNA, here.
Remember to sharpen up those elements after resizing as
otherwise they will be a little blurry; check out my Tips and Tricks page for
more info.
I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical and horizontal
2, opacity 80, blur 5.
Open the template, duplicate and close the original, delete
raster 7, resize 75% with “All layers” checked and then increase the canvas
size to 700 by 600 pixels.
Click on Raster 1, unhide it and flood fill with white.
Make a new layer, select all, open paper10 and copy, paste
into the selection, deselect and apply the mask. Resize 90%.
Open frame 1 and paste as a new layer. Resize 65%, drag up above Raster 9 Shadow 1
and apply the drop shadow.
Merge “Copy of Raster 4” down onto “Raster 4” and then down
onto “Raster 3” so you have one layer and select it (Selections – Select All –
Selections Float – Selections – Defloat).
Open paper 3 and paste as a new layer, resize 75%, invert the selection
and hit delete to remove the excess paper.
Deselect, apply the drop shadow and delete the merged template layer.
Click on Raster 5 to activate it and select it as before,
this time make a new layer, open paper 8, copy it and paste it into the
selection, deselect, apply the drop shadow and delete the original template
layer.
Open metalwings and paste as a new layer. Resize 75%, move down very slightly and apply
the drop shadow.
Open your main tube, paste as a new layer and bring to the
top, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow. I used the middle size tube resized 90%.
Activate “Merged” (the layer with the three black
rectangles). Click on the rectangle on
the right hand side to select it, open the tube again, copy and paste as a new
layer, position inside the rectangle, invert the selection and hit delete to
remove the excess tube, deselect. Do the
same with the rectangle on the left hand side but this time with the tube mirrored. Lower the opacity of both tubes to around 40.
Open bats and paste as a new layer, drag up so its just
below the main tube, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Open flowers, paste as a new layer and bring to the top. Resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop
shadow.
Open gemstonespider and paste as a new layer. Resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop
shadow.
Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary
adjustments. When you are done, crop
your tag and add your copyright information and text.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if you have any questions,
you can email me here and don’t forget to send me your result, I love to see
them and include them in the gallery!
