- Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I
used the gorgeous layered tube “Razor Wired”
from the latest
pack 69 from
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase
the tube at
The kit is “Purple
Rain” from
and is also
available at
I re-coloured the
kit to match the shade of purple
in the tube
(check out my Tips and Tricks page for help on re-colouring).
You will need the
filter “Metal Peacocks” by
I used mask 38
from
I used the Windows
font
“Impact”.
I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity
85, blur 10.
Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 and fill with
white.
Open the mask and mirror it. Make a new layer on your canvas, select all,
paste paper 2 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.
Paste element 26 and resize it 95%.
Paste the tube, resize 65% and apply the drop shadow.
Paste element 5a, resize 40%, drag below the tube,
duplicate and arrange the two elements with the tube in the centre. Select the interior of the element on the
left with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below
it and fill with black. Paste the close
up tube, resize it 50% and position it in the element, invert the selection and
delete the excess. Re-colour this tube
the same shade of purple as the element, lower the opacity of it to around 50,
merge it down onto the black layer and apply the Metal Peacocks filter on the
default settings then apply the drop shadow to the frame. Now do the same with the right hand element
and the tube mirrored.
Paste element 30, resize 70% and rotate 80 degrees to the
right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Paste element 22, resize 95%, place in position and apply
the drop shadow.
Paste element 24, resize 90%, duplicate, mirror the
duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.
Paste element 13, resize 60% and duplicate, mirror the
duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.
Paste element 15, resize 35% and duplicate, mirror the
duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.
Paste element 16, resize 60%, place in position and apply
the drop shadow.
Paste element 17, resize 50%, place in position and apply
the drop shadow.
Paste element 6, resize 35% and rotate 20 degrees in
either direction, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply
the drop shadow.
Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments,
then crop your tag and add your copyright information.
Close off your foreground colour, the background can be
any colour, open the font, type your
name in lower case, stretch it to size using the vector nodes and then convert
it to a raster layer. Select the text
then float and defloat it, paste paper 9 as a new layer, resize the paper 50%
and position it on the text then invert the selection and hit delete to remove
the excess, deselect and delete the original text layer. Apply an inner bevel to the text using the
settings in my screenshot below and apply the drop shadow.

When you are done, export your tag on a transparent
background as a png.

position on the left, duplicate, move the duplicate over the right and erase
any that shows below the tube then apply the drop shadow to each.

and the paper, resize 65% and position in the frame erasing any that shows
outside of it, change the blend mode to “Soft Light” and apply the drop shadow
